iPod DIY Repair

iPod DIY Repair

One of the most beautiful aspects of the iPod is that you will never have to take it to an iPod Repair Service. Though you might feel that the iPod is quite a surly and unfriendly device, the truth is absolutely different. You can in fact repair almost all kinds of problems that your iPod faces all by yourself.

Before you start with a DIY repair of your iPod (or any electric gadget for that matter) make sure to check the warranty of your iPod. Also if you are unsure or don't know what you are doing you can do serious damage to your iPod. Always consult a professional iPod repair service center if you are unsure or don't know what you are doing.

If your iPod "hangs"
This happens often, especially if you are overworking your iPod or if it is connected to iTunes in the middle of a playback. Don't worry, just disconnect the iPod from the computer and remove the speaker. Then toggle the Hold button, i.e. put it in OFF position and put it back ON. Now comes the important step.

Place the thumb of your left hand on the Menu button and the thumb of your right hand on the Select button. Click on both these buttons simultaneously. You will have to hold them for about five seconds and the iPod logo will appear. That's it – your iPod is fully functional now.

If your iPod does not connect with the Computer
iTunes may be the problem. Just click on the source box for your iPod if it is visible and check for updates. Chances are that the iPod won't be visible at all. If it is not, restart your computer and it will come right there. You may also try removing the USB connection and putting it in another port of your computer.
